Welcome to Finding Dori! Thank you for considering us for your dog's home-away-from-home.
At Finding Dori, boarding is provided in my own home, allowing me to offer a calm, personalized experience that focuses on quality over quantity. Because I intentionally keep my numbers limited, each dog receives individualized attention, plenty of interaction, and care tailored to their unique needs.
Since space is limited, especially around holidays, I encourage booking as soon as you know your travel dates.
Finding Dori isn't a traditional boarding facility. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable, low-stress environment where every dog feels at home.
Every dog is different, so I customize each stay based on your dog's individual personality and needs. If your dog enjoys playing with other dogs, that can absolutely be arranged. If they prefer spending their time interacting with people instead, that's perfectly okay too.
Because I also work at a local veterinary clinic, I have experience administering medications and caring for dogs with special medical needs. If your dog requires daily medication during their stay, I'm happy to accommodate.
Unlike many boarding facilities, my nightly boarding rate is all-inclusive. There are no additional charges for medication administration, playtime, or your mid-stay update. Everything your dog needs for a comfortable stay is included.
Please Note:
If you only need boarding during the day (drop off after 8:30 a.m. and pick up the same day no later than 7:30 p.m.) day boarding is available.
To help keep every dog healthy and safe, all boarding guests must meet the following health requirements:
These requirements help protect every dog in my care and maintain a healthy boarding environment.
If your dog has any changes in health, medications, behavior, or anxiety before their stay, please let me know as soon as possible so we can determine the best plan together.
If you have any questions regarding vaccinations or preventative products, please don't hesitate to reach out.
One of the things that makes Finding Dori different is the calm, smaller-scale environment I strive to provide for every dog in my care. My focus has always been on quality over quantity, ensuring each dog receives individualized attention while enjoying a safe, comfortable, and low-stress stay.
To help maintain that environment, it's important that we discuss any history of:
Being open about your dog's behavior helps determine whether my boarding environment is the best fit for their individual needs.
While some adjustment to a new environment is completely normal, dogs should be able to settle in, rest comfortably in a crate when needed, and recover from the excitement of the day.
Dogs experiencing severe or ongoing crate anxiety, continuous barking, destructive behavior, or repeated stress-related accidents may not be the best fit for my boarding environment, as these behaviors can significantly impact the comfort and well-being of the other dogs in my care.
If your dog experiences significant anxiety while away from home, I encourage discussing options with your veterinarian before boarding. In some cases, medication or another management plan may help make boarding a more positive experience.
For some dogs, drop in pet sitting in your own home may ultimately provide a less stressful experience than boarding. While I do not offer this service, I'm happy to provide recommendations whenever possible.
My goal is always to set every dog up for success while maintaining a calm, enjoyable environment for every guest.
Business Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. (By Appointment Only)
Due to working some morning hours at a local veterinary clinic, along with family commitments, my morning availability is very limited and may not be available every day.
The earliest available morning appointment is 8:30 a.m.
All drop-offs and pickups are by appointment only. Please reach out in advance so we can find an appointment time that works for both of us.
Because I often have multiple drop-offs, pickups, training sessions, and other appointments throughout the day, I kindly ask that you:
Appointment times are scheduled strategically to help avoid multiple families and dogs arriving at once, creating a calmer and safer experience for everyone.
Appointments before 8:30 a.m. will generally require drop-off the evening before.
Appointments after 7:30 p.m. will require pickup the following day.
For overnight boarding, pickups after 5:30 p.m. will incur an additional $25 day boarding fee per dog.
*Please note if pick up/drop off times are outside of normal hours (8:30a-7:30p) there will be an additional $20 fee per occurrence*
A quick text when you're on your way is always appreciated so I can have your dog ready for pickup or be prepared for your arrival.
Holiday boarding fills very quickly.
To allow time with my family while continuing to provide excellent care for the dogs staying with me, drop-offs, pickups, and day boarding appointments are not available on the holiday itself.
Please plan to arrive the day before or schedule pickup the day after the holiday.
Thank you for understanding as I balance caring for my boarding guests while spending time with my family during the holidays.
I care for multiple dogs at a time, and my priority each day is providing quality care, supervision, enrichment, and hands-on interaction.
Because of this, I'm unable to provide daily updates.
You can expect one update approximately midway through your dog's stay, including a few photos and an overview of how your pup has been doing.
Updates are typically sent in the evenings after 7:00 p.m.
Thank you for understanding as I prioritize caring for your dogs over spending time on my phone.
Please know that if I ever have any questions or concerns about your dog I will always reach out to you right way.
Basic baths are available at the end of your dog's overnight stay.
Bath Pricing
Long-haired breeds, including doodles, require an additional $10 drying fee due to the extra time required for blow drying.
Bathing services are only available with overnight boarding.
This is a bath only and does not include any grooming type services (I DO NOT offer haircuts, deshedding, dematting, nail trims, ear cleaning or other grooming type procedures).
Because holiday boarding periods are especially busy, bathing services are unavailable during holiday stays.
Accidents can happen, especially when dogs are away from home, and I completely understand that some pups may need a little extra care during their stay.
I never want to send a dog home dirty or uncomfortable. However, when a dog requires an unscheduled bath due to urine, feces, vomit, or another hygiene-related accident during boarding, it requires additional time, supplies, laundry, and cleanup.
To help make this fair for everyone involved, a Hygiene Bath Fee, beginning at 50% of the standard bath price, may be applied whenever an unscheduled bath becomes necessary.
My goal is always to send every dog home clean, comfortable, and feeling their best while helping offset the additional time and resources these situations require.
If repeated stress-related accidents become a pattern during your dog's stay, my boarding environment may not be the best fit for your dog's individual needs.
While not required, I highly recommend scheduling a meet and greet before your dog's first stay.
It's a great opportunity for you to:
Dogs often feel much more comfortable when they've had a chance to visit beforehand, making drop-off day a little less stressful for everyone.
If possible, please bring your dog(s) with you so they can explore the space, sniff around, and begin building positive familiarity with their home-away-from-home.
If you'd like to schedule a meet and greet, you can use my online scheduler or simply send me a text. I'd love the opportunity to meet both you and your pup(s)!
